Earlier this month, our PCSOs and PCs were out in Shoreham-by-Sea engaging with the community as part of a dedicated operation focusing on electric bikes and electric scooters.
Working alongside the fire service, we spoke with riders and members of the public, offering advice on safe and responsible use.
Where riders were under 18, we also took the opportunity to have positive conversations with parents and guardians.
The fire service provided important guidance on lithium battery safety, including how to store bikes and scooters correctly to reduce fire risks. This vital information could help to save lives for anyone using or charging these devices at home.
A reminder from us: currently electric scooters are currently only legal to use on private land with the landowner’s permission. |
