Almost £500,000 has been recovered from a major drugs gang. Last year, 15 members of the organised crime gang were sentenced to a total of more than 90 years’ imprisonment for dealing Class A and Class B drugs in the Worthing area. Our enquiries revealed they had benefitted from more than £2,000,000 in criminal proceedings, which funded high-end vehicles, luxury holidays, jewellery and designer clothing. But we have since managed to recover a large portion of those funds, which will be split between the Crown Prosecution Service and law enforcement agencies, and will help to tackle organised criminals who bring so much harm to communities in Sussex.
