News and appeals
 
Numerous arrests were made during the week.  Offences include:  domestic assault, drug driving, possession of Class B drug, criminal damage, drink driving, blackmail, breach of the peace, common assault, sexual assault, theft of a motor vehicle, public order, stalking, actual bodily harm, harassment, drunk and disorderly, assault police, criminal damage, wanted on warrant, burglary and breach of bail conditions
 
 
Man suffers serious injuries after car collides with tree
 
Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision near Wisborough Green on Monday 19 August.

Early youth intervention programme accepts over 300 young people since launching.
 
Sussex Police are playing a major role in the county’s youth early intervention programme, which has accepted over 300 referrals since launching in April.

Assaults on police ‘not part of the job’
 
On the day that figures were released showing that assaults on officers in Sussex have risen by 16 percent over the last four years, three officers were attacked in Brighton and Hove with two hospitalised as a result of their injuries.

Chichester (WC1)
 
Bognor Road, Chichester – On Monday 12 August we received a report of a vehicle being stolen.  Serial 0238 12/8
 
Chatsworth Road, Chichester – On Thursday 15 August we received a report of a garage break where a bike was stolen.  Serial 0215 15/8
 
Clay Lane, Fishbourne – On Friday 16 August a shed was broken into.  Suspects were driving a Nissan Vivaro Van.  Dirt Bikes were stolen.  Serial 1560 16/8
 
Flatt Road, Nutbourne - on Saturday 17 August a shed was broken into.  Power tools were stolen.  Serial 0399 17/8
 
Fishbourne Road, West – On Saturday 17 August a vehicle was broken into.  A window was smashed and a bag and wallet was stolen.  Serial 1515 17/8
 
Selsey, The Witterings and surrounding area (WC2)

 
Fisher Lane, North Nundham – On Monday 12 August we received a report that an unoccupied property was broken into.  Nothing was stolen.  Serial 0682 12/8
 
Midhurst, Petworth and surrounding area (WC3)
 
 
Linchmere Road, Haslemere – On Monday 12 August we received a report of a vehicle break whilst parked in a layby.  Windows were smashed on the vehicle and shopping bags were stolen.  Serial 0363 12/8
 
Barlavington Lane, Pulborough – On Wednesday 14 August we received a report of two shed breaks at the location within the last two weeks.  Electrical tools have been stolen.  Serial 0564 14/8
 
Guillod CTGS, Graffham, Petworth – On Thursday 15 August a van was broken into and tools stolen.  Serial 0253 15/8
 
Guillod CTGS, Graffham, Petworth – On Thursday 15 August we received a report that a bike was stolen from an insecure shed.  Serial 0283 15/8
 
Marley Com, Haslemere – On Saturday 17 August a garage was broken into.  Damage was caused to the lock but nothing stolen.  Serial 0331 17/8
 
Vehicle breaks have been reported in beauty spot areas including Cowdray Ruins, South Harting, and Graffham.
