We have had reports of bogus doorstep callers targetting the vulnerable and the elderly. Specifically individuals are attending people's homes offering to buy and value Jewellery. Please be aware of these sorts of crimes and find below some of our crime prevention tips.

  • Always report bogus callers to the Police
  • If you are not sure who is at your door, don't open it.
  • Keep doors and windows closed and locked
  • Ensure that if you have checked who the person is and have let them into your home, that you close the door behind them - distraction burglars often work in teams, where one will distract you whilst the others sneaks in through the insecure door
  • Try not to keep large sums of cash in your home
