Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

On Saturday’s operation BLITZ our PCSO’s conducted hi visibility patrols throughout Eastbourne paying particular attention to our regular anti-social behavior hot spots. The Crumbles retail park always acts as a social gathering place for local youths and can attract the associated anti-social behaviour in the form of underage drinking and shenanigans. On Saturday the PCSO’s found a large group gathered at the back of Asda supermarket but were happy to report no issues at all. The group engaged in a friendly manor with us and assured us that they would not cause any trouble. Several checks were conducted over the evening on this group (not that we doubted them) and the group remained on best behaviour!

Our PCSO’s were back out on Op Blitz Sunday 12th April and what had been a sunny warm day turned rather damp by the evening and the rain seemed to keep most people inside, with the exception of a few hardened partiers in the town centre. All of the local hot spots were patrolled including, Shinewater, Old Town, Hampden Park and Sovereign Harbour. There were no issues and no phone calls on the direct BLITZ phone line so we trust that you all had a peaceful evening.
