Two men tragically killed in light aircraft crash Two men have sadly died following a light aircraft crash on the afternoon of Wednesday 30th June.
A 65-year-old from Balls Cross, near Petworth, and a 58-year-old from Gosport, Hampshire, were tragically killed following the incident just north of Goodwood Airfield about 4.38pm.
Officers are providing support to their families at this difficult time.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed and we have no further information.
Police searching for wanted man Cain Richards
Police are searching for Cain Richards, who is wanted for absconding from Ford Prison.
Richards, 23, was last seen by staff at the open prison on Saturday, June 12 and is now sought for being unlawfully at large.
He is described as white, 6’ 3” tall, of slim build, with brown hair, blue eyes and a full beard. He has a tattoo on his right arm which says ‘NAN’ and is known to have links to the Essex area.

New cohort of officers join Sussex Police Twenty-five new recruit constables have taken their first steps in policing this week.
The new recruits were formally sworn in as police officers on Tuesday (29 June) at a low key attestation ceremony carefully adapted to meet Covid-safety measures, with family and friends of the new recruits experiencing the proud moments via Zoom.
Twelve of the new recruits have joined through the three year Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and thirteen have joined through the two-year Detective Constable Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP). The new officers will spend nine weeks training at the county police HQ in Lewes before joining dedicated coaching units in police stations countywide.

Police issue stark warning after 90 arrests made at unlicensed event Mass gatherings of unlicensed events will not be tolerated, and anyone who attends or organises these events can expect to face robust action.
This is the stark warning issued by Sussex Police, after almost 100 arrests were made during a ‘rave’ in Steyning.
Officers responded to the large scale event off Bostal Road in the early hours of Sunday 27 June, where some 2,000 people were found to be in attendance.
A large number of officers were deployed to ensure public safety and to bring the event to a safe conclusion, however some were met with significant hostility.
A total of 90 arrests were made, of which 79 were for motoring offences – drink or drug-driving, or failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Three charged with attempt to steal wristwatch in Chichester Police investigating an attempted robbery in Chichester have charged three suspects.
Officers were flagged down in Lavant Road, Chichester at 10.45am on 15 June to a report that three women attempted to take his Rolex watch, worth £8,000.
The victim - a 74-year-old man - suffered a minor injury to his arm.
Three suspects were swiftly arrested by officers nearby.
Cassandra Dimitri, 22, of Nutfield Place, Portsmouth, Minodra Marin, 21, of New Road, Portsmouth, and Mihaela Petre, 28, of Nutfield Place, Portsmouth, were charged with attempted robbery.
They appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 16 June and were released on conditional bail to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 14 July.

Sussex Police leading the way with Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel
Sussex Police is looking for members of the community to be part of a new Sussex Independent Hate Crime Scrutiny and Involvement Panel.
The panel will be made up of volunteer members of the public, and will provide feedback and advice on the police’s response to Hate Crime in the county, seeking to improve the two-way communications between officers and the diverse communities they serve.
Superintendent Rachel Swinney, Force lead for Hate Crime, said: “Last year Sussex Police was the first force nationally to volunteer to take part in a Hate Crime Investigations Inspection. This was carried out by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and independent members of the National Independent Advisory Group (IAG).
