Reported loose animals on the highway this week is.
This was made up by 10 Sheep, 2 Horses 1 Cow & 1 Goat.
Please check your boundary hedges and fences, to include Railways, every day.

 
ITEMS STOLEN THIS WEEK
5 Batteries, 2 Shovels, 1 Cement Mixer, 1 Wheelbarrow, 2 Strimmers,
1 Trailer, 2 Hedge Trimmers, 4 Chainsaws, 6 Quadbikes, 1 Go-Kart,
1 Blower and 1 Woodcutter.
Value of goods and damage £49,540.00.

 
Please be aware that it is the time of year when travellers move about and look for new sites to place their caravans, if you see travellers breaking into sites please call 999 and quote the exact area they are at.
 

GOOD NEWS
More news on this next week but as I type this Officers from Rother have just arrived back after spending most of the day recovering what is believed to be items stolen from Sussex and Kent, valued at many thousands of pounds.

Please, if you see any such vehicle contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 with as much information as possible. This includes date and time, where and a good description of the vehicle including the reg no and of any people. Please do not put yourself in any danger but if possible take a photograph.

A cyclist came across a dog walker with 2 dogs in Shoreham Road Steyning, one of which had killed 2 sheep, the other dog jumped into the river. Enquiries are ongoing.

A farm in College Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks has been entered and the intruder(s) deliberately forced a lock and chain from the gatepost and then opened the gate to its full extent to enable the bovines to mix.

HERITAGE St Leonards Church in Church Road Crawley has been broken into, by person/s unknown, by smashing the door frame, estimated cost of repairs is £500.00, an outbuilding was also entered and a strimmer valued at £250.00 was stolen.

Around 04:30 hours a farmer in the Ashburnham area of Battle heard a dog barking and looked out but could not see anything untoward. When visiting the sheep later he found 1 dead and 3 injured, 2 of which has possible broken legs. Did you see or hear anything, if so please call it in on the non-emergency number 101.

An Ifor Williams Trailer 9model unknown) has been stolen from premises in Ebdens Hill St Leonards on Sea, on looking back through their CCTV it was discovered that it had been stolen on 09/06/2020, it can be clearly seen on the back of a Nissan Navara. Valued at £4,000.00.

A farm in College Lane Hurstpierpoint Hassocks was entered and deliberately opened the gate between two fields of beef cattle to enable the Bovines to mix, the intruder/s also ripped a chain and lock from the gate post.
