News and appeals

Our officers made 26 arrests this weekend across Arun and Chichester and over 70 arrests in the last week.

Some of the offences include: Assault on police, burglary, driving under the influence of drugs, domestic assault, robbery, drunk and disorderly, threats to kill, wanted on warrant and affray.
Police appeal for information following Littlehampton burglary
We're appealing for information after a man attempted to gain access to at least three properties in Oakcroft Gardens, Littlehampton, around 2.30am on Monday.

Crime summary


Annadale Avenue, Orchard – On Monday 15 June during the evening a work bag was stolen from the ground floor bedroom of a property; it is believed the offender leant through an insecure window to steal the bag.  Serial 0307 of 16/06.

William Street, Hotham – On Thursday 18 June during late evening there was a report of a man shouting and climbing on cars which caused damage to two vehicles.   The male was with another two males which then headed away from the vehicles towards the town centre. Serial 1666 of 18/06.  
West Meads Drive, Aldwick – On Monday 15 June there was a report of 6-8 youths climbing on the public toilet near the car park.   Our Police Community Officers attended however they had made off.   Serial 0762 of 15/06.  
Littlehampton and surrounding areas

Sea Lane, Rustington – On Tuesday 16 June there was a report of a garage having been entered over a four week period; a tea set and a chesterfield Chaise lounge was stolen.  Serial 0708 of 16/06.

Cornwall Road, River – Overnight on Thursday 18 June a bottle was thrown at a car breaking the windscreen of a vehicle.  Serial 0234 of 19 June.    

River Road, River – Overnight on Saturday 20 June the window was smashed to a van and a wallet stolen.  Serial 0306 of 21/06.

St Mary’s Gardens, River – Overnight on Saturday 6 June, a vehicle was entered and sunglasses and gift vouchers were stolen.   Serial 0360 of 21/06.   There was also a report from a neighbouring property where their vehicle was broken into and a dash cam stolen; the window had been smashed to gain entry.  Serial 0614 of 21/06.

Victoria Gardens, River – Overnight on Monday 15 June an unknown object was thrown at a property’s front door causing the window to shatter.  Serial 0520 of 16/06.
