Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Dear Coordinators, please forward this message to your NHW Members.

The May 2020 newsletter from the CEO of National Neighbourhood Watch Network, John Hayward-Cripps, is attached; included are updates about the support from NHW members during Covid-19 restrictions, news of the launch of the new-look Ourwatch website, https://www.ourwatch.org.uk/, and updates about Neighbourhood Watch Week (6th to 13th June, 2020).

At local level, Horsham District Association has (i) submitted our 2020 Funding Request, (ii) acknowledged the postponement of most summer events that we usually support, and (iii) continued analysing the results of the Coordinator & Membership Survey initiated in February.

The Association's Chair, Mr. Andrew Moffat, adds the following message "NHW volunteers have performed sterling acts in their communities and long before the Horsham hub system was operating, many had set up volunteering schemes to assist the elderly, frail and infirm with provisions and such like.

With the lockdown, loneliness is a factor often not taken into account and do, please, if you are can, keep an eye out for those in your own localities who might be impacted. As always, we are on hand to provide advice and assistance should you require
.".

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 related restrictions, we have taken the decision to POSTPONE the next scheduled Committee Meeting on 01 June. We will communicate a new meeting date in due course.

Kind regards,

Ken Broomfield
Secretary, Horsham District NHW Association
