News and appeals

 
A number of arrests were made during this week. Offences include:-
Vehicle interference, Domestic Violence Assault, Excess Alcohol, Handling Stolen Goods, Possession of Class A & Class B Drugs, Drug Driving, Possession with Intent to Supply Class A Drugs, Affray, Assaulting a Police Officer, Drunk and Disorderly, Common Assault, Breach of Bail, Stalking, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Actual Bodily Harm, Harassment, Grievous Bodily Harm, Attempted Theft, Shoplifting, Breach of a Court Order and False imprisonment.
 
 
Appeal for witnesses to three-car collision in Chichester

Witnesses are being sought to a three-car collision in Chichester where driver and passenger of one vehicle have made off on foot. The incident occurred at 09:30am on Thursday 7 November on A259 Cathedral Way after exiting the Via Ravenna roundabout.
Anyone who saw what happened or who may have dash-cam/ CCTV footage is asked to contact Sussex Police quoting serial 313 07/11

Man pleads guilty to the murder of Valerie Graves

Bi-annual blitz on burglary through Operation Magpie
Early November saw Sussex Police run its bi-annual burglary prevention and awareness campaign under the banner of Operation Magpie, providing advice to residents on securing their property. During the week officers undertook days of action in rural communities, which can be more vulnerable to burglary.

Prolific Chichester shoplifter jailed
A prolific Chichester shoplifter has been handed a prison sentence following 8 charges of theft from shops. He pleaded guilty to all 8 counts and was given a 36-week custodial sentence for the shoplifting offences. The courts also activated a previous 18-week suspended, giving him a total prison sentence of 54-weeks.

Chatsworth Road, Chichester- Between 10:00pm on Tuesday 12 November and 07:45am on Wednesday 13 November a garage has been broken into and a bike stolen.   Serial 0196 13/11
 
Little Breach, Chichester- Between 9:30pm on Sunday 10 November and 06:30am on Monday 11 November a property has been entered through unlocked patio doors and cash taken.   Serial 0925 13/11
 
Barton Road, Chichester- Between 01:00pm on Sunday 10 November and 08:00am on Monday 11 November a vehicle has been entered and loose change taken.    Serial 0436 11/11

Woodlands Lane, Chichester- at 01:15am on Monday 11 November two males have entered a vehicle and taken a phone charger and loose change taken. The males were captured on CCTV trying other car door handles.   Serial 14/11

Outram Way, Hunston- Between 12:30am on Monday 11 November and 09:00am on Tuesday 12 November a vehicle was entered and a handbag with purse was taken.   Serial 0518 12/11
 
Howard Avenue, West Wittering- On Monday 11 November at 09:30 residents have discovered the patio doors have been shattered and a log is on the living room floor.   Serial 1436 11/11
 
Seafields, Bracklesham Bay- Between Sunday 3 November and 05:20pm on Friday 15 November the patio doors of a property have been smashed. Unknown if entry gained, nothing taken.   Serial 0766 16/11

Gillhams Lane, Fernhurst- at 12:35am on Wednesday 13 November the grounds to a property with gated entrance have been entered and a John Deer Gator (small tractor) has been stolen.   Serial 0322 13/11
