A number of high-profile speakers will be joining Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne as she hosts a Listen Live summit in Chichester. This event will address public concerns around road safety and shine a light on the partnership working in Sussex to tackle criminal behaviour on our roads.
The event will be held at the Chichester Park Hotel, Westhampnett, on Wednesday 27th November from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Alongside the PCC, the panel of experts will include representatives from the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police. Themes for discussion will include the impact of speeding, using a mobile whilst driving, drink/drug driving and uninsured/untaxed vehicles.

"Improving road safety is one of the biggest issues that residents raise with me. This public event will encourage communities and partners to come together with police to play a full and active part in making the roads of Sussex safer,” said Mrs Bourne.
In 2018 there were 1003 people killed or seriously injured on Sussex roads and thousands of reports made to Operation Crackdown, Sussex Police’s report mechanism for issues regarding road safety. So this topic is a priority not only for Sussex residents but also for the police and the PCC.
Mrs Bourne continues, “Part of my role is to be a voice for the public in policing. I want to give them a forum to raise their concerns and allow them to hear from a panel of experts in this area. I know that visible policing and effective partnership working matters. So, let’s start by making our roads safer.”
