Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

On Friday officers were joined by a member of staff from the East Sussex REBOOT team.

REBOOT is the Sussex Early Intervention Youth Program which offers a consistent approach in the way that we deal with youths involved with anti-social behaviour and low level criminality.

As well as patrolling our hot spot areas, officers received three calls to our Blitz phone.

These calls related to youths causing a nuisance by running in the road near to the leisure centre in Hailsham.

Our officers engaged with a group on the High Street and they were given advice with regards to this behaviour.

Saturday continued our Patrols across the district. This was also the night of East Hoathly bonfire celebrations and very wet weather.

This saw a reduction in the calls received by our officers. We attended reports of nuisance youths in Hailsham, however they had left by the time officers arrived.

We received one call to the blitz phone to a report of youths banging on the windows of a property in Uckfield.

Officers attended and spoke with a group who were offered words of advice regarding this.
