Crime and incident update
Reported items stolen in the last week include
2 red diesel thefts, 2 horse saddles, 11 horse rugs, 3 bridles, several head collars,
Several fly masks, several grazing muzzles, several lead ropes,
1 strimmer, 2 tractor batteries, 1 tractor, 1 multi tool, 1 exhaust system
a large quantity of hand tools, several chainsaws and other power tools,
1 tractor windscreen, 7 sheep and 3 quad bikes.
The total value of reported rural crime this week is £45,650.00.

Please check on your security and if possible increase on it to make it more difficult to enter, also bear in mind these day intruders come across fields and enter your property from the rear where more often of not security is non-existent.

Monday 21st October 2019 to Sunday 27th October 2019
A large quantity of red diesel has been stolen from farm premises in Hoe Lane Flansham Bognor Regis, valued at £750.00.
Brighton & Hove
HERITAGE A church in the Brighton area has been broken into and 2 Chalices and a Ciborium (bowl with a lid) have been stolen. An unsuccessful attempt was also made to break open an offertory box. At this moment we do not know the value of the stolen property but as they are all very old they likely to be quite valuable.
A farm in Race Hill Brighton has been entered by person/s unknown in a 4x4 by smashing down fences, then driving around fields destroying crops. Damage is estimated at £3,000.00.
A barn in South Harting has been forcefully entered and a chainsaw, leaf blower and a strimmer have all been stolen. Valued at £2,000.00.
A farm in Main Road Birdham was entered by a person in a black car transporter and an attempt was made to load a vehicle onto it, when approached the diver of the vehicle said they had the log book for the vehicle, this was untrue. The vehicle then left empty. The event was captured on CCTV. Enquiries are ongoing,
A suspicious white VW Golf was seen by staff at Fuel Farm Gatwick, when approached by staff the vehicle drove off.
The owners of a farm in Picts Lane Horsham people who were breaking into the farm, at this time we do not know if anything has been stolen.
Premise’s in Hurston Lane Storrington Pulborough have been entered and various items of equine equipment was stolen, this includes 2 saddles, 10 horse rugs, 3 bridles, head collars, fly masks, grazing muzzles and a strimmer, value approximately £2,300.00.
Stables in Coolham Road Coolham Horsham have been entered and a horse rug, metal chains, clips and lead ropes have been stolen. Valued at £100.00.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to break into a yard in Neaves Lane Ringmer, the alarm went off causing the intruders to drive in a silver or white hatchback. It was caught on CCTV.
Three year 6 children who were walking to school in Windmill Lane Eat Grinstead reported that a white van with 2 males with black hoods followed them slowly to the school entrance then sped off. One of the pupils tried to get the registration number of the vehicle but it was either missing or covered up.
Two batteries worth £400.00 each were stolen from Cuckfield, the diesel worth £50.00 was also syphoned off.
A farm in Nash Lane Scaynes Hill Haywards Heath was entered via a paddock and a storage container was broken into, a John Deere tractor, multi tools, chainsaws and other power tools were stolen, valued at £14,000.00.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to break into a farm in Locks Green Hassocks.
The windscreen to a farm tractor in Old Hollow Worth has been smashed, value £450.00.
A sheep farmer in Shrub Lane Burwash found 7 of his sheep dead, it is obvious that they had been attacked by a dog. Value £700.00.
An intruder was spotted stealing a chainsaw and 2 reels of cable from premises in Boars Head Crowborough, when the intruder realised he had been spotted he dropped the stolen items and drove off empty handed.
The exhaust has been stolen from a van on a farm in Easons Green Framfield. Value £500.00.
A farmer from Framfield Uckfield reports that he has CCTV of a person stealing their post from the farm post box. Enquiries are ongoing.
A farm yard in Hartfield has been has been broken into and a green Honda 500 Grade quadbike has been stolen. Valued at £10,000.00.
A farm in Stonehill Road Stonehill Heathfield has been entered overnight and a quadbike worth £6.000.00 was stolen.
Premises in Stonehill Road Stonehill Heathfield have been entered and around £1,000.00 worth of tools have been stolen.
A farm in Legsheath Lane East Grinstead has been entered and a quadbike worth £6,000.00 was stolen.
