News and appeals

Numerous arrests were made during the week.  Offences include:  common assault, actual bodily harm, possession with intent to supply Class A drug, wanted on warrant, burglary, theft, threats to kill, resisting arrest, drink driving, affray, theft, theft of motor vehicle, assault police officer, breach of bail conditions, breach of the peace, harassment and drink driving.

The number of rapes recorded in the county has risen.
Man suffers serious injuries in Littlehampton assault  

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Neighbourhood Crime Summary (Burglary, Vehicle Crime, Criminal Damage) 
Chichester (WC1)
Windsor Road, Chichester – Overnight on Tuesday 20 August, there was an attempt break to a property via the rear patio door; no entry was gained.  Serial 0184 of 21/08.  
Fishbourne Road, Chichester – Overnight on Wednesday 21 August, there was an attempt break to a property; no entry was gained but some damage was evident to the front door lock.  Serial 0280 off 22/08.
Spitafield Lane, Chichester – On Thursday 15 August a vehicle was keyed along the rear nearside door.  Serial 0448 of 20/08.

Cavendish Street, Chichester – Overnight on Tuesday 20 August a White Honda 100 motorcycle was stolen.  Serial 0237 of 21/08.  
West Street, Chichester- On Saturday 24 August, during late afternoon a bag was stolen from a van.   Serial 1046 of 24/08.
Chidham Lane, Chidham – On Tuesday 20 August the window was smashed to a vehicle; no entry was gained and nothing reported stolen.  Serial 1564 of 31/08.
Florence Road, Chichester – On Sunday 25 August, West Sussex Fire and Rescue attended to a deliberate ignition to a bin.  Serial 0137 of 25/08.  

Selsey, The Witterings and surrounding area (WC2)
Bracklesham Lane, Bracklesham Bay – On Thursday 22 August, there was an attempt break to a barn; no entry was gained and nothing reported stolen. Serial 0310 of 22/08.
Croft Road, Selsey – Between Friday 16 August and Friday 23 August a property was broken into and various electrical items stolen.  Serial 0271 of 23/08.
Park Avenue, Selsey – Overnight on Wednesday 21 August a van was broken into and tools stolen.   Serial 0167 of 22/08. 

Midhurst, Petworth and surrounding area (WC3)
Elmleigh, Midhurst – On Tuesday 20 August, during the morning, a rear patio window was smashed to a property; no entry was gained and nothing reported stolen.  Serial 0713 of 20/08.
Hollycombe Lane, Milland – On Thursday 20 August, between 6.30 pm and 6.45 pm a drone was stolen from the boot of car.   Serial 1304 of 22/08.
