Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

Operation Blitz on 03/08/2019 started at the Malling Fields recreation ground at around 7.45pm, where historically we have had issues with anti-social behaviour, however, on this evening the park was empty and there were no issues seen.

At around 8.15pm we arrived at Normansal Park, Seaford, where there have been reports of vehicle anti-social behaviour. We spoke with a member of the public who parks there on a regular basis who had not experienced any anti – social behaviour in the area.

This led us on to our other regular hotspot locations of McDonalds and KFC which were very quiet during our check which we conducted at around 8.30pm.

Our next stop was at Shakespeare Hall, which had a few children using the skate park having fun, a few stopped and had a chat with us and we witnessed no issues at this location.

We then took a drive around the Big Park in Newhaven which produced no further issues for our team.

We received one call directly to the Blitz phone from a resident in Telscombe, stating that a group of children were camping on a playing field in the north of the town. The children had put up two tents and had built a fire, all of which was removed along with the rubbish that they had generated.

This weekend was very busy for officers with it coinciding with Pride Weekend in Brighton and other commitments so unfortunately we were not able to complete Operation Blitz on Friday evening.
