Reported items stolen in the last week include The total value of reported rural crime this week is £43,030. 1 x calf, 1 x welder, 1 x generator, 1 x cutting set, 2 drills, 200 litres red diesel 1 x fogger 1 x water pump, 1 x compressor, 4 x batteries, 1 x fork, 5 x chairs, 4 bridals, 1 x caverson, Land Rover doors and front seats, 2 mowers, 2 bicycles, 1 x winch,1 x wheel with tyre, 1 x jet washer, 1 x hedge cutter, 2 x strimmer’s, 2 x chainsaws, 1 x quadbike, 3 trailers, 1 x digger, several spanners, 1 x post box, 1 x electric fence unit, 1 x boat and 1 x aircraft. A day old brown calf has been taken from a farm in Race Hill Brighton, witnesses say a person driving a blue Vauxhall Corsa asked a van driver to help them put it into the car as it was poorly and they wanted to take it to the vets. No vet in the area has seen this calf. Fortunately the incident was captured by the dash cam of the van. Enquires are ongoing. Value £300.00
A shipping container on a farm in Birdham Road Chichester was broken into and a number of items were stolen, these include a welder, a generator, a cutting set and battery powered drills. Also stolen red diesel was stolen from 3 tractors parked in the open. Value of the haul £5,000.00.
HERITAGE St Crispin’s Church in Church Place Pulborough has had a window smashed, fortunately it was not a stained glass one. No entry appears to have been made.
A farm in Main Road Bosham Chichester has been entered and an outbuilding was forcefully entered and several items have been stolen, these include 1 x Fontan Compactstar fogger, 1 x Honda petrol water pump, 1 x Clarke 50Litre compressor, 1 x Battery for the generator, 100 Litres of red diesel plus various odd bits and pieces. Value of haul is around £6,000.00.
A stable yard in Eartham Road Boxgrove Chichester has been entered and several items stolen, this includes 1 x muck fork, 5 x blue garden chairs, 1 x brown leather Mickleham bridal, 3 x brown leather bridals and I x royal blue Bridalway lunging cavasson. Value of haul £900.00.
A Land Rover 110 Defender that was parked on the drive of a property in Crede Lane Bosham Chichester was stripped of all its doors and front seats. The owner tells me that the insurance company have written the vehicle off. Value totals £5,000.00.
Whilst the owner of farm premises in Runcton Lane Runcton Chichester was away from his barn person/s unknown entered it and stole a red Lawnflite 604 ride on mower, a bicycle and an old tractor battery. Haul value £1,250.00.
HERITAGE The Novium in TowerStreet Chichester has had intruder/s damage the roof area above the entrance. The metal slates covering the ceiling have been pulled down and off, it also had a part that was hanging down the left hanging there. If you saw anything suspicious please call Sussex police and quote the reference to the side.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to steal a Land Rover from a property in Hollingbourne Crescent Crawley. The vehicle alarm was activated when an intruder broke into the vehicle, the vehicle owner chased a male off the premises.
HERITAGE OvernightSt Margaret’s Church in Ifield Street Crawley had 4 pillar path lights broken, replacement costs not known at this time but likely to be £200/300.
A winch was removed and stolen from the front of a Land Rover Defender parked in St Anne’s Road Eastbourne, value £350.00.
A front wheel has been stolen from a vehicle parked outside a property in Broadbridge Heath Road Warnham Horsham. Replacement £80.00.
An outbuilding to premises in Horsham Road Warnham was forcefully entered and several items were stolen including a jet washer, a hedge trimmer, 2 strimmer’s, a chain saw, a lawnmower and a bicycle. Value £4,000.00.
A dark brown Staffy wearing a red harness was seen chasing sheep and holding a lamb down by its ears at Telscombe Tye South Coast Peacehaven.
A further attack on sheep has taken place at Telscombe Tye, this time a lamb was killed. The witness knows the owner of the dog. Enquiries are ongoing.
An outbuilding to a farm in Plumpton Lane Lewes was broken into and 2 chainsaws were stolen, value £400.00.
A green Arctic Cat Quadbike with a sprayer on the back was stolen overnight from farm premises in Ashburnham Battle. Value £4,000.00.
An ornithologist was out bird watching in the Rye area when he noticed a hare, he watched it for a while the, 3 males the appeared with 2 Greyhounds or Greyhound type dogs, the handlers then sent the dogs after the hare. Out witness then left as they felt unsafe.
An 8x4 tipping Ifor Williams trailer has been stolen from premises in Pett Road Pett Hastings, CCTV clearly shows 2 males pushing it down the road. Value £2,500.00.
A 15 foot twin axled, flatbed trailer was stolen overnight from farm premises in Hog Hill Winchelsea. Value £3,000.00.
A yellow 3 tonne Bobcat digger has been stolen from farm premises in Bodiam Robertsbridge. Value £9,000.00.
The workshop to a farm in Top Road Hooe has been entered and a few spanners hammers and a drill were stolen. Value £200.00.
A red reproduction Victorian post box has been stolen from outside a property in Fairlight. Vale £150.00.
A trailer with a small Trike light aircraft on it was stolen from outside a property on Coast Road Pevencey Bay. Valued at £3,000.00.
An electric fencing unit together with its battery has been stolen from a farm in Farm Road Eridge Green. Value £200.00.
HERITAGE The Listed Church of St Peter & St Paul in Church Street Wadhurst has been the victim of lead theft from its roof, at this moment we do not know what the repair costs we be but they are likely to run into thousands of pounds.
An outbuilding to premises in Otham Court Road Polegate has been entered and a trailer with a boat on it has been stolen. Value £8,000.00.
