Tarmac tricksters with threats

Alert message sent 12/04/2019 15:57:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Sussex POLICE  report recent incidents of the usual approach. Men call offering tarmac jobs, and although no agreement made a truck arrives of highway maintenance description and starts the job. Payment is demanded then, and upon no payment the victims are threatened with violence. The perps claim to be travellers and say they will return.
As always DO NOT deal with such visitors, ideally do not open the door to such con artists. Call 101 and report, or if threatened with violence on site call 999.
