News and appeals


There have been numerous arrests over the past week.  Offences include:-  Domestic Violence Assault, Breach of Bail Conditions, Criminal Damage, Common Assault, Stalking, Possession of Class A Drugs, Assault PC, Theft, Actual Bodily Harm, Driving with no Insurance, Drink Driving, Aggravated Burglary, Grievous Bodily Harm, Supply of Class A Drugs, Harassment, Wanted on Warrant, Harassment, Shoplifting, Going Equipped for Burglary, and Affray.


Firearms Stolen from Property in Bosham


Detectives are appealing for witnesses and believe at least four people were involved




Two more war memories stolen from West Sussex


Police are appealing for information after a further two war memorials were stolen in West Sussex.

Crime Summary


Chichester (WC1)


York Road, Chichester – On Monday 27 August we received a report that a property was broken into between 17th August and 27th August.  A search of the property was carried out but nothing stolen. Serial 0405 27/8


Whyke Lane, Chichester – On Wednesday 29 August we received a report that an unoccupied home had been broken into.  Some personal possession were removed from the property.  Serial 0459 29/8


King George Gardens, Chichester – on Wednesday 29 August, a property was entered via an insecure door and electrical equipment taken from the property.  Serial 0943 29/8


Leather Bottle Lane, Chichester – On Thursday 30 August we received a report of an attempt burglary between 17 and 28 August.  A window was damaged but entry was not gained to the property.


St James Square, Chichester – On Thursday 30 August we received a report of a distraction burglary.  A purse was stolen from the property.  Serial 0541 30/8


Oving Road, Chichester – On Thursday 30 August we received a report that a property has been burgled with cash and jewellery taken from the property.  Entry was gained via a broken window.  Serial 1024 30/8


Over the week we have received 11 reports of thefts from vehicles.  Locations include West Stoke, Hares Lane - Funtington, Eartham Wood, West Stoke, Stansted Park, Abbots Close - Boxgrove, Priory Close – Boxgrove. 



Selsey, The Witterings and surrounding area (WC2)


Orchard Side, Hunston, Chichester – On Monday 27 August access was gained to a vehicle and a small amount of cash and personal possessions were taken.  Serial 0242 27/8


Seal Road, Selsey – on Monday 27 August a vehicle was accessed whilst on driveway.  Items stolen include shoes and trainers.  Serial 0625 27/8


Woodland Road, Selsey – On Monday 27 August an insecure vehicle was entered but no items stolen.  Serial 1193 27/8


Willowmead Close, Runcton, Chichester – On Thursday 30 August between 1815x1900 hrs a property was entered via an insecure door.  Cash and bank cards were stolen.  Serial 0545 31/8


Midhurst, Petworth and surrounding area (WC3)


Linchmere Road, Haslemere – On Wednesday 29 August between the hours of 0900x1015 a property was broken into via a ground floor window.  Jewellery was stolen from the property.  Serial 0720 29/8


Hampers Common Industrial Estate, Petworth – On Friday 31 August we received a report of a break to a business premises that had occurred overnight.  A laptop and camera was stolen from the location.  Serial 0321 31/8


Heath End, Petworth – On Friday 31 August a business was broken into.  Serial 0339 31/8


Over the week, we have received 13 reports of thefts from vehicles.  Locations include B2146 South Harting, Harting Down Car Park, Houghton Lane, Bury, Hesworth Common, Fittleworth.
