HGV ‘supercab’ used to detect driving offences in Surrey and Sussex
An HGV ‘supercab’ has been used to detect dangerous and distracted drivers for the first time in Sussex.
The vehicle, which is modified for policing purposes on major trunk roads, was loaned out as part of a dedicated campaign to crackdown on motorists committing ‘fatal four’ offences.
These offences – drink/drug-driving, speeding, using handheld devices and not wearing a seatbelt – are the most common causes of fatal and serious injury collision in the UK. Click here to read more.
Armed robbers enter Crawley property
Police are appealing for witnesses after armed robbers entered a Crawley home.
It is believed three or four men entered the flat in Dorsten Square, Crawley, around 3.30am on Thursday 19 April.
One of the suspects was believed to be in the possession of a knife. He was described as mixed race, around 5’ 5”, of slim build and wearing a grey hooded top and a scarf around his face.A second suspect, believed to be in possession of a white pole, was described as 5’ 8” and wearing a red tracksuit top with the hood up.

Archie Gates, from East Grinstead, wanted on recall to prison
Police are searching for Archie Gates, who is wanted on recall to prison.
The 20-year-old, from East Grinstead, was jailed for 14 weeks on 30 January in relation to an assault in the town.
Following his release from prison, Gates is suspected of committing further offences and displaying poor behaviour. Read more here.
Between 22- 24 April, in Penfold Road, Xbox and cash were stolen. Entry was gained through the back door.

Garage was broken into in Gossops Green and tool box stolen between 9 and 16 April.

Door was damaged to the garage and power tools were stolen in Coney Close on 28 April.

There was an attempt to steal a motorbike from the garage in Downland Drive on 29 April.

There was an attempted burglary in Jewel Walk on 28 April. A door lock was damaged but no entry gained.
