News and appeals


Numerous arrests were made over the week in Arun and Chichester. The offences included:- Drink Driving, Possession of Class A and Class B, Affray, Shoplifting, Assault, Burglary, Theft, Breach of the Peace and Harassment.



Police seek to increase awareness of ‘Clare’s Law’. 


Sussex Police is carrying out a social media campaign to raise awareness of ‘Clare’s Law’.  This is a Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme and enables people to apply for information about their partner’s (or ex-partner’s history if they are concerned about their own safety.  Link below for further information.




Sussex Police raise £35,000 for Chief Constable’s charity of the year. 


Sussex Police have successfully raised £35,000 for Chestnut Tree House, the Chief Constable’s charity of the year 2017.  Link below




Police welcome ‘good’ rating on how they protect those most at risk


Sussex Police has been judged as ‘good’ at keeping people safe and reducing crime.  Please see the below link for further information.

Chichester (WC1)


Walton Lane, Bosham – On Monday 19 March, a site cabin was broken into via a forced door.  Damage was caused and tools stolen.  Serial 0128 19/3


Cattle Market Car Park, Chichester – On Monday 19 March a disabled badge was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.  Serial 0425 19/3


Southbourne Avenue, Chichester – On Monday 19 March, a headlamp unit was stolen from a Land rover Defender.  Serial 0518 19/3


Fishbourne Road East, Chichester – On Tuesday 20 March a building site was broken into and tools stolen.  Serial 0236 20/3




West Dean Woods Car Park, Chichester – On Wednesday 21 March a vehicle was broken into.  A bag was stolen from the rear seat.  Serial 0836 21/3


Bowhill Lane, West Stoke, Chichester – On Thursday 22 March a vehicle was broken into whilst parked in the West Stoke car park.  Rear window was smashed and briefcase stolen from rear seat.  Serial 0164 22/3


Kingley Vale Car Park, Stoughton, Chichester – On Thursday 22 March a vehicle was broken into whilst parked in the car park via smashed window.  Personal possessions stolen from vehicle including small change and CD’s.  Serial 0655 22/3


New Park Court, St Pancras, Chichester – On Thursday 22 March, a flat was broken into via a forced door.  Items stolen include a TV, Xbox and Nintendo.  Serial 1191 22/3


Kingley Vale Car Park, Stoughton, Chichester – on Thursday 23 March a vehicle was broken into whilst parked in the car park via a smashed window.  A handbag was stolen from the boot of the car containing, cash and jewellery.  Serial 0628


Selsey, The Witterings and surrounding area (WC2)


Third Avenue, Batchmere, Chichester – On Wednesday 21 March a shed was broken into and 2 motorbikes stolen.  Serial 0477 21/3


Stocks Lane, East Wittering – On Wednesday 21 March school grounds were accessed and lead taken from the building roofs.  Serial 0847 21/3


Midhurst, Petworth and surrounding area (WC3)


Milland Road, Milland, Liphook – On Thursday 22 March windows were smashed to gain access to shop.  Cigarettes and other items stolen.  Serial 0191 22/3


The Drive, Ifold, Loxwood, - On Thursday 22 March heating oil was stolen from an oil tank.  Serial 22/3


Copse Road, Haslemere – On Saturday 24 March a garage was broken into and mountain bikes stolen.  Serial 1358 24/3
