Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

Blitz patrols on Friday 9th March consisted of patrolling areas that have been suffering from vehicle damage and anti-social behaviour in the Tollgate Gardens, Aylesbury Avenue areas, no persons were found in the areas. The weather was a rather wet one. We then moved on to the Crumbles where previous reports had been made of anti – social behaviour at the rear of the retail units. We then moved onto the Hampden Park area checking the Veritek building that has been subject to criminal damage in the past and youths hanging around the area, tonight though, due to the weather conditions the area was quiet. Areas in the old town were also checked, but also quiet.

Op Blitz in Eastbourne on Saturday 10th March was also a quiet one, all of our regular hot spot areas were checked on a regular basis with nothing untoward to report. The team did have a call on the direct Blitz telephone number to attend Aylesbury Avenue for a report of youths smoking cannabis. On arrival the youths were no longer present but with several calls to this location over the last few days’ particular attention will be paid by the team in the coming weeks to make sure that issues here are nipped in the bud. The team were kept busy though, with half of the team being called away to look for a missing person and the other half dealing with a precariously broken down tractor with a trailer full of manure causing a traffic build up on the Rising off Pembury Road.
