News and appeals

This week we have a message from the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service:

Final weeks for East Sussex Fire Authority survey

East Sussex Fire Authority is urging the public to take part in its survey on attendance standards before it closes on 5 March 2018.

Attendance standards are one way in which the Authority monitors and measure the performance of East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

They help the public understand how long it could take us to respond emergencies.

At the moment performance is measured against one standard across the whole of our area.

In reality, you may get a different response time in different areas for a whole range of reasons.

Our aim is to develop a new standard that is simple, meaningful, easy to understand, and representative of a typical attendance time wherever that may be within East Sussex and Brighton and Hove.

This doesn't change the way the Service will respond to incidents - if you have an emergency, we will still send out firefighters as quickly as we can.

The survey is open from 8 January 2018 to 5 March 2018. If you would like to take part in our survey you can do so online at www.esfrs.org/irmp

You can also request a paper copy by calling 0303 999 1000 or emailing consult@esfrs.org

Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service work closely together and provide support to each other whenever possible and this is an excellent opportunity to do so.
