Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

On Friday night, our officers visited the Sovereign Harbour, the Crumbles Retail Park (including behind ASDA) and the surrounding areas as there were reports of youths gathering in these areas last weekend. The messages from the officers last weekend seemed to be effective as there were no sightings or disturbances. The team then moved to the Langney Shopping Centre and the underpasses nearby were there was drug dealing last weekend. However, there was no suspicious activity seen.

After this, the team moved over to the Lavender Close Youth Club in Shinewater as there have been pervious reports of anti-social behaviour. The officers were politely greeted by some youths who told the officers that the club was closed. They had a positive conversation with the officers before making their way home.

The officers then moved over to the St Wilfrid’s Hospice Car Park and the surrounding area to patrol the area as there had been previous reports of cars racing but there were no sightings. The team were called to assist with Traffic Control at the Shinewater Roundabout as a vehicle had broken down. The officers directed the traffic safely around the incident, which helped the driver, passengers and car move safely.

From here, the team went to Haven and West Rise schools as there have been previous incidents of anti-social behaviour on their grounds. However, there were no sightings or disturbances on the property. The officers also patrolled the Veritek building at Edgland Terace in Hampden Park several times as youths have been seen on and in the premises before but there were was no activity.
