Local priorities

Our emails will update you on the local policing priorities which are set by the Police based on reports received from the public, businesses and partner agencies (like the city council).

Priorities may be carried over through several weeks due to their complexities, to allow us to continue tackling issues of high importance. Please read through to learn about new or revised priorities or the latest updates to existing priorities.

BRIGHTON

City Centre and London Road

Youth anti-social behaviour (ASB). We are working with partner agencies to safeguard children and identify those responsible. We continue to patrol the area on a daily basis and welcome any reports from the community via 101 or anonymously via crime stoppers https://crimestoppers-uk.org/. You may see some tweets from the area. (@BtonHovePolice)

Queens Park

Drug dealing and usage. We are continuing with patrols in the area to tackle this issue. Recently a community meeting was held attended by police, local councillors and drug and alcohol support groups and it was decided police would continue with patrols, the drug and alcohol support groups will spend time in the park to educate drug users and explain the impact of their behaviour on the community

City Centre

Homeless in doorways. Patrols are continuing throughout the City and we are working alongside partner agencies to tackle the issue. If you have any concerns around this please report to police via 101. Make Change Count is a scheme backed by partner agencies including the police. Instead of giving money to the Homeless on the street give to Make Change Count which helps support them, here’s the link that gives more information http://just.ly/makechangecount17
