Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

On Friday, the 5th of January 2018 our PCSO’s conducted Op. Blitz for Eastbourne.

The area we patrolled included the Crumbles, where we experienced some problem with the youths causing a nuisance around ASDA and at the back of the stores. On this occasion, there was no untoward activity.

We also paid close attention to Pevensey Bay Road, where the bus stop has been vandalised on several occasions. However, we are pleased to report that there were no issues.

One of the new hot-spots added to our anti-social behaviour map is the derelict building in Old Town where we were told young people congregate and drink alcohol, as well as use other substances but that proved unfound, on this particular night. We finished Op. Blitz at midnight - with a clean slate, and nobody coming to our attention.

On Saturday 6th January it was another quiet BLITZ for Eastbourne which is good news for our residents. Particular attention was paid to Sovereign Harbour and the Crumbles retail park following issues over the past weeks but I’m happy to say that everyone seemed to be on their best behaviour.

Two youths were evicted from the Bowles club on Victoria Drive after being found on the location though they were very compliant and received strong words of advice not to return.

There were no calls to the BLITZ direct mobile number, but please make sure to utilise the BLITZ number should you witness or be victim to any anti-social behaviour.
