Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

Last weekend, officers poured away a variety of alcohol in Goldsmith’s, Crowborough as none of the youths present wanted to admit it was theirs! We also used direction to leave powers in Uckfield after a Dispersal Order was authorised, following ongoing complaints of anti-social behaviour in the town.

On Friday, we received a couple of reports in Ridgewood, Uckfield about a group of 6 or 7 teenagers causing issues and knocking over dustbins. They had left the area before we arrived.

We also attended a report from a member of the public that four youths had broken into an abandoned building in Ridgewood. The four youths responsible were caught by officers in Lewes Road.

Later, police had to attend a house party in Ersham Road, Hailsham after it got out of control and there was a report of a fight. On our arrival things had calmed down and no offenses were identified.

On Saturday, we had a call regarding a group of youths in North Street, Hailsham who were causing a nuisance to bus drivers. The team did attend soon after the call but the kids had already gone on their way.

A group of youths were being abusive at a supermarket in Bell Farm Lane, Uckfield. They were swearing at staff after being banned from the store and causing a nuisance to customers. They had dispersed prior to our arrival.
