Police anti-drugs operation in Lancing - two arrests

On Thursday afternoon (28 December) local officers executed drugs warrants at a bungalow and a flat in Boundstone Close, Lancing. 

At the bungalow a quantity of white powder believed to be a Class A drug was seized, together a quantity of cannabis and cash. A 53-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug.  After being interviewed they were released under investigation.

At the flat a small quantity of what is believed to be amphetamine was seized. A 66-year old man was interviewed at the address but not arrested and enquiries continue.

A subsequent search took place at a house in Hove. Nothing was seized and no arrests were made.

PC Darren Pickering of the local Prevention Enforcement team said; "This operation was part of our continuing work to combat drugs supply in the area. Anyone with information can contact us at or by calling 101."

Worthing man arrested for drugs offences

Police seized a large quantity of cash and drugs after a man was arrested in Worthing.

At about 4.30pm on Friday (29 December), officers on patrol became aware of a Mercedes A180 suspected to be linked to the supply of drugs.

The vehicle was stopped in Littlehampton Road, and a quantity of cannabis and approximately £3,000 in cash was discovered. The driver was subsequently arrested.

Following a search of his address in the town more drugs were found, along with associated paraphernalia and further £3,000 cash, all of which was seized by police.

A 20-year-old man from Worthing, arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, supply of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cocaine and using or acquiring criminal property, has been released under investigation.

Update on reported shootings in Lancing

Two teenagers arrested in connection with a number of reported shootings in Lancing have been released under investigation.

Shortly before 6.40pm on Friday (29 December), police received a report of a boy having been shot with a BB gun in North Road.

The 12-year-old victim was left shaken but not seriously hurt. He was treated by paramedics for a superficial neck injury.

Following this, police received further reports of shots being fired at three separate addresses in the town, causing damage. No further injuries were reported.

The NPAS helicopter assisted officers in an extensive search of the area, which led to the arrest of two youths.

A 17-year-old boy from Lancing, arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and three counts of criminal damage, has been released under investigation.

A 15-year-old boy from Lancing, arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an imitation firearm and criminal damage, has also been released under investigation.
