Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity
During Operation BLITZ in Eastbourne on Friday 29 December officers were faced with a rather quiet shift on the Anti-Social Behaviour front. All of our local hot spots were visited and checked, happily with no problems to report! Perhaps our continuing efforts are starting to prove useful in reducing ASB… or perhaps all of our local youths are still happily at home eating leftover turkey and enjoying their Christmas presents! Either way, there were no phone calls on the direct BLITZ number so we can assume you all had a peaceful evening.
On Saturday 30 December, PCSO’s were called early on to attend a welfare check at an address of a vulnerable male due to the concerns of a neighbour. Both people were visited and all was well.
Following this there was a report on an elderly gentleman in Peacehaven who was reported missing by a family member, all crews attended and following extensive searches he was found safe and well in Brighton. He was taken home to his family after ambulance checks had been carried out.
Blitz was resumed shortly after with all of our regular hot spots visited on at least 2 occasions each. Rain had stopped play across the district! Blitz was concluded at midnight with all areas peacefully quiet. For all of our BLITZ members, please remember to utilise the direct number should you need us, Happy New Year!
